Because for some asinine reason I've still been called racist/sexist at one point or another for not caring about the new trilogy. Not hating on it, but simply not caring about it.

It's like *any* dissenting opinion gets lumped together as "just a bunch of bigots" much akin, I imagine, to where anyone who enjoyed the movie probably gets written off as "just a bunch of SJWs" or something.

Again, it's like watching two different camps of fanboys fighting over "whose right" and they're so far gone they're using whatever ammo they can find now. Literally a bunch of fucking nerds throwing around words they don't understand because they *must* win one of the stupidest internet arguments yet.

Mercifully, folks in this topic have been pretty sensible no matter what they think of the new trilogy, but I still wanted to vent about the jackasses I run into elsewhere.

I think TLJ sucks for plenty of reasons (story structure, continuity errors, new characters, wonky dialogue, etc.) that have nothing to do with the reason people THINK I don't like it (women, story not going the way I hoped, fan theories, etc.)

Hell, I've never even seen TLJ (or TFA), but that doesn't stop some people (none in this topic though) from assuming I'm just a bigoted hater anyway.

Admittedly, yes, a great deal of my apathy towards the new trilogy is due to the new characters, but that includes *all* of them, not just the ones that happen to be a minority, female, or a female minority.

I mean, fuck, Kylo Ren is the one I hate the most because he somehow manages to be more cringe than Anakin. I didn't think that was possible, but here we are.

I did it, and so can others. Life isn't easy, and there will be times that you will fail... but it's how you handle those failures that ultimately define you.

Wrong, success and happiness are finite resources, and those born of higher status already got it all. There's nothing left for anyone at the bottom, me and the other 200 homeless people I share shelter space with are proof enough of that, and lord knows how many more homeless out there prove it further.

And just so you know, I was raised in a lower income family, but now I'm in the lower end of upper class. Yes, some luck was involved... but more in the sense that it was opportunities that arose and I went after them; everything else was purely hardwork and determination.

If you were actually raised lower class you would know that things like "opportunity" and "hard work" are a myth, that upward mobility is fucking make-believe.

Born in the gutter, die in the gutter, that's all me and a lot of other peopke will get out of our shit lives and there's literally nothing we can do about it. If anything, all this talk to gut jobs and wages is only going to hurt the middle class, and all the while they'll be blaming people like me instead of realizing all their woes are coming from *above* them, not from below.

I find it odd that the movie most people credit Sigourney Weaver for being the badass action chick in, Aliens, is the one movie in the entire series where she was presented as softer and more motherly female character - she was explicitly juxtaposed against the *actual* action female of the movie, Jenette Goldsteins Private Vasquez.

Honestly, the motherly angle just makes it better.

"Mama Bears" are some of the most badass characters I've seen (likewise for "Papa Wolves").

This. He tried to rebuild the Jedi order and that blew up in his face. He stopped the Empire, that blew up in his face. He gave it his absolute best to make the galaxy a better place with peace and love and it's worse off than ever and he feels responsible for it so he said fuck it. I loved his character in TLJ. And the scene where Yoda shows up and says "you're right, this Jedi stuff is bullshit. Just be a good person" was great.

And the real lesson is; Never try.

It's a large part of why I gave the new trilogy a complete pass, just comes off pessimistic while making the original trilogy seem pointless.

Honestly, I put almost no stock in 1 vs. 1. But granted, a low faith character invalidates almost half of the job tree in that type of comparison.

I was going to say, pretty much any class/skill set is going to get stomped if the opponent has been specifically set up to counter them every way possible, so it doesn't seem fair to hold that against Calculators/Math Skills only.

Prepare/cook it where exactly? It's already been pointed out that even a simple microwave is often out of the question for homeless people, and they're sure as hell not going to have access to a fully stocked kitchen either.

I'm lucky I can get a premade ham sandwich most days, and the "warmest" food I've gotten in 4 months was 2-day old pizza from Little Cesar's.

With the microwaves? Yes. The only place I know of with a community microwave is the homeless shelter I'm at, but that's obviously limited to those actually living at the shelter, random folks can't just walk in and use them.

With the whole "exact same product at different degrees of warmth" thing? No, right away I can name Wal-Mart, Safeway, and WinCo as doing stuff like that.

As someone on food stamps, yes, some places are sticklers about how you warm up the food afterwards, to the extent a lot of places where I am actually *removed* public microwaves for *anyone* to use just to stop the so-called "abuse of the system".

You also can't buy *any* pre-cooked food that's still warm/hot, it *must* have been chilled first for an arbitrary amount of time even when it's literally the exact product. This is especially notorious with chicken meals, but the most hilarious example is ready to go soup.

I figure "pitchers" could be, given that just like straight guys, them getting laid is wholly dependent on finding someone who wants their D.

Whereas "catchers" probably don't have the same issue because much like straight women, they just have to put it out there and interested parties will literally line up to try and get it.
